In a lighter but telling moment, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth quoted a fake Bible verse from the film Pulp Fiction while speaking at a worship service. He urged worshippers to join him in a prayer he said was “meant to reflect” Ezekiel 25:17 — the passage famously (and fictionally) recited by Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the 1993 Quentin Tarantino film. The actual verse bears little resemblance to the movie version.
