Mystery Sea Drone Found in Greek Cave Raises Alarm

Fishermen in Lefkada, Greece, stumbled upon a fully functional, mobile explosive device — a kamikaze sea drone — lodged in a sea cave. “It was stuck on the rocks. Its engine was running continuously,” one fisherman recounted. The device has been transferred to a naval base in Attica, where members of the armed forces and the National Intelligence Service are working to unlock its secrets.

A retired admiral quoted by Ta Nea warned that “these craft do not operate alone — there may be others.” The discovery raises serious questions about maritime security in the region and the provenance of unmanned explosive naval devices in Mediterranean waters.
