On the war front, Russia claimed to have captured Kostyantynivka, a strategically significant Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region. The city, which had a pre-war population of around 78,000, had been the site of intense fighting since late 2025. If confirmed, the fall of the city would represent one of the most consequential territorial gains of the conflict in months.
