Democrats Accuse Trump of Making Cuba a ‘Silent Gaza’

Several Democratic members of Congress traveled to Cuba for a four-day visit and met with President Miguel Díaz-Canel. Afterward, Representatives Delia Catalina Ramírez, Teresa Leger-Fernández, Mark Pocan, and Maxine Dexter accused the Trump administration of turning the island into a “silent Gaza” through restrictive policies and an energy embargo. Congressman Pocan said he does not believe Washington is engaged in any dialogue to end the embargo and criticized Secretary of State Marco Rubio for handling the issue “personally and not professionally.”
