Strait of Hormuz: UN Scrambles to Restart Evacuations

In another flashpoint, the International Maritime Organization is working to restart evacuations through the Strait of Hormuz after an attack on a ship forced operations to pause. Some 115 vessels and around 2,500 seafarers had been successfully guided through the strait before the suspension, IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez told a virtual press conference. The strait remains one of the world’s most critical — and contested — shipping chokepoints.
