U.S. Senators Left in the Dark on Iran Deal

Back in Washington, U.S. senators said they had not yet been briefed on the details of a new U.S.–Iran deal, and refrained from offering praise or criticism. Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota said he expected the Trump administration to convene with lawmakers as the process continues. The secrecy surrounding the agreement has fuelled bipartisan frustration on Capitol Hill.
