Greece Announces €500 Million in Cost-of-Living Relief

The Greek government unveiled a new package of eight support measures worth €500 million, targeting pensioners, renters, farmers, and families with children. The package includes an extension of diesel fuel subsidies — 20 cents per litre at retail — through the end of May, at a cost of €55 million.

Combined with the €300 million announced in March, total relief spending now approaches €800 million, underscoring how European governments continue to grapple with the lingering effects of inflation on household budgets.
