In the United States, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it is gathering information about a Frontier Airlines aircraft that struck and killed a person on the runway during takeoff from Denver International Airport late Friday night. The flight, bound for Los Angeles, “reported striking a pedestrian during takeoff at approximately 11:19 pm,” according to the airport’s official account. The victim has not been publicly identified, and investigators have not yet determined how the individual came to be on an active runway. An emergency evacuation of passengers followed.
