Ukraine War: Russian Strikes Kill Three in Kharkiv as Moscow Admits Fuel Problems

Russian strikes killed three people and injured several more in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, according to Le Monde, as the grinding war continues into its fifth year. Ukrainian emergency responders were photographed extinguishing fires at a warehouse hit in the attack.

But the war’s impact is increasingly being felt inside Russia as well. Der Spiegel reported that Moscow has publicly acknowledged fuel supply problems resulting from sustained Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. For months, Ukraine has targeted refineries and fuel depots as part of its counter-offensive strategy, and the Kremlin now concedes that gasoline distribution has been restricted in some areas — a rare admission of vulnerability.
