Georgia Republicans Hit Pause on Redistricting

Back in the US, Georgia’s Republican-led legislature shelved a special redistricting session called by Governor Brian Kemp to redraw legislative maps ahead of the 2028 elections. The New York Times reports that growing anger — presumably from both within and outside the party — forced lawmakers to step back from a process that was designed to entrench Republican advantages.
