Erdoğan Escalates Rhetoric, Threatens to Invade Israel

In a speech at a party event in Rize, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan dramatically ratcheted up his rhetoric against Israel. According to both Greek and Israeli media, Erdoğan declared: “Just as we ‘entered’ Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, we can enter Israel. There is no reason not to do it.”

He went further, stating that had Pakistan not brokered the US-Iran talks, Turkey would have “shown Israel its place.” He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being “blinded by blood and hatred,” pointing to the killing of “hundreds of innocent Lebanese” on the day of a ceasefire.

The threats arrive alongside mounting evidence of Israel’s devastating military campaigns beyond Gaza. A report from Ethnos described what is being called “domicide” — the systematic flattening of entire villages in southern Lebanon using the same model applied in Gaza. The report noted that Netanyahu “answers to no one” and that no international actor has demanded explanations for the thousands killed and displaced.

While Erdoğan’s threats are widely seen as rhetorical escalation rather than genuine military planning, they underscore how deeply the Israel-Palestine conflict has destabilized the broader Middle East and strained relationships between NATO allies.
