Latin America’s Culinary Milestone: Two Brazilian Restaurants Earn Three Michelin Stars

On a brighter note, Latin American gastronomy made history when two Brazilian restaurants — Evvai and TUJU, both in São Paulo — received the coveted three-star Michelin rating at a ceremony held at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Palace. Only about 160 restaurants worldwide hold this distinction. Chef Luiz Filipe Souza of Evvai called it one of the most significant moments in the region’s culinary history, saying he never imagined two Brazilian restaurants would reach the pinnacle simultaneously.
