The Formula 1 circus heads to Silverstone this weekend for the 77th British Grand Prix, and Lewis Hamilton — now racing for Ferrari — appears to have a rendezvous with history. British drivers have won the last two races at Silverstone (Lando Norris in 2025, Hamilton in 2024), and Hamilton holds an extraordinary record of nine victories at the historic circuit. He arrives with momentum, having won the previous race in Barcelona. Silverstone, where Nino Farina won the first-ever modern F1 Grand Prix in 1950, remains the spiritual home of the sport — with most teams headquartered within 100 kilometres of the track.
