The 2026 Tony Awards ceremony took place on Sunday, co-hosted in the preshow by Laura Benanti — a Tony winner for the 2008 revival of Gypsy — and Tituss Burgess, who last year earned acclaim playing Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary!. Among the early winners, Cats: The Jellicle Ball took the award for Best Choreography, with Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons beating out competitors from Schmigadoon!, Ragtime, The Rocky Horror Show, and The Lost Boys. Musicals Schmigadoon! and Cats: The Jellicle Ball were among the evening’s top honourees.
