Closer to the Mediterranean, a wildfire broke out in a forested area near the village of Klima on the Greek island of Skopelos. Firefighters battled the blaze in extremely difficult terrain with three aircraft, one helicopter, 15 ground personnel, and five vehicles. The fire’s location on a mountaintop hampered ground access, making the aerial response critical.
