First responders received reports of the incident at approximately 12:45 p.m. local time, according to the Miami-Dade fire rescue battalion chief. Some victims suffered burns and traumatic injuries. Florida’s wildlife commission is investigating the cause of the explosion, which occurred in a popular recreational waterway area.
