A tiny, subterranean mammal known as the pink fairy armadillo has been spotted again in the Ñacuñán Biosphere Reserve in Mendoza province, Argentina. Park rangers and local residents confirmed the sighting — a rare event for a creature that can vanish underground in seconds. The appearance of such a sensitive species is considered a strong indicator that the local ecosystem remains in balance, with stable soil and rich native vegetation. Argentina’s biodiversity director, Ignacio Haudet, said every confirmed observation is of enormous scientific value.
