German Law Firms Hit by Security Vulnerability

In a story with implications for data privacy across Germany’s legal sector, hackers affiliated with the Chaos Computer Club discovered serious security vulnerabilities in RA-Micro, the market-leading software used by German law firms. At least 130 firms were affected. While the software provider has since closed the security gaps, Der Spiegel reports that affected parties were apparently not adequately informed about the breach — raising serious questions about transparency and the handling of sensitive legal data.
