Israeli naval forces intercepted the remaining vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, an activist convoy attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israel dismissed the flotilla as “a provocation for the sake of provocation” with no genuine intent to deliver aid, according to The Hindu.
The Greek Foreign Ministry confirmed that Greek nationals who participated in the flotilla would arrive in Ashdod and pledged to provide consular assistance and facilitate their repatriation. The incident recalls the 2010 Mavi Marmara confrontation and highlights the ongoing blockade of Gaza, which remains one of the most contentious elements of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
