MLB Suspensions After Racially Charged Incident

Back in the U.S., Major League Baseball handed down suspensions to four players following a bench-clearing brawl at Fenway Park. Washington Nationals pitcher Cade Cavalli received a seven-game ban after his “Sit down, boy” comment directed at Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras — a remark Cavalli later apologized for, acknowledging its racial overtones. Contreras was also suspended seven games for his role in the ensuing fracas.
