From a Melbourne kung fu instructor who teaches women self-defence to a former state premier and the custodian of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours celebrated nearly 1,000 Australians who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities.
Among the most poignant recognitions was the posthumous honour for Dr. Katie Allen, a medical pioneer and former federal MP.
