A Paris appeals court sentenced French filmmaker Christophe Ruggia to five years in prison — two of them to be served under electronic monitoring — for sexual assaults against actress Adèle Haenel. Haenel’s 2019 public accusation against Ruggia was a landmark moment in France’s #MeToo movement. The appeals court’s ruling increases the severity of his original sentence.
