Separately, Russia’s state news agency TASS reported the crash of a Russian military aircraft over Crimea, killing all 29 people on board. Russian authorities said there were no indications of an external impact — meaning, at least officially, no suggestion the plane was shot down. The incident adds another layer of tragedy to the occupied peninsula, which has been a flashpoint since Russia’s annexation in 2014 and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
