In Rio de Janeiro, US musician Oliver Tree was among six people killed when two helicopters collided mid-air and crashed onto a car dealership below. Der Spiegel reported that the singer had been touring through South America at the time of the accident. The crash over the Brazilian metropolis added to an already grim day for aviation safety.
