Terrorist Attack on Karachi Rangers Headquarters

In Pakistan, at least three Sindh Rangers personnel were killed on Saturday when terrorists attacked the paramilitary force’s local headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar neighborhood. According to Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho, initial reports indicated three attackers were also killed after they rammed the facility’s main gate with their vehicle.

Heavy gunfire was reported in the area following the assault. Emergency responders from the Edhi Foundation confirmed at least two people were injured and hospitalized. A “mopping-up operation” was launched, with Special Security Unit commandos, the Anti-Terrorist Force, and additional Rangers personnel cordoning off the area. Authorities were still working to confirm whether an explosion also occurred during the attack.

The brazen assault on a security installation in one of Pakistan’s largest cities underscores the persistent threat of militant violence in the country.
