On Saturday, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to declare that “many” Iranian military leaders had been “eliminated” in what he described as a “massive attack” on Tehran. Alongside the post, he shared a video showing nighttime explosions over a city, though he offered no specifics about when the strike took place.
“Many of the Military Leaders of Iran, who have directed them poorly and unwisely, have been eliminated, along with much more, with this massive attack in Tehran!” Trump wrote.
The war in the Middle East, which erupted over a month ago following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran, has since triggered retaliation that has broadened the conflict and rattled the global economy. The escalation has dominated headlines worldwide during what would normally be a quiet Easter weekend.
