Two Trains Collide Near Bedford, England

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Bedford, England on Friday after a high-speed East Midlands Railway train collided with a commuter train. Early reports indicate multiple injuries, though the full extent of casualties remained unclear as rescue operations continued. First video from the scene circulated rapidly on social media, showing significant damage to at least one of the trains. Authorities had not yet released details on the cause of the collision.

The incident comes on the same day that train services in Pakistan’s Punjab province were also disrupted, after heavy rainfall triggered a landslide between Jhamat and Chhab railway stations in Attock’s Jand area. Mud and debris blocked the track, stranding hundreds of passengers — particularly women, children, and elderly travellers — near Tunnel No. 129 and at Jhamat Railway Station.
