Pakistan Vows to “Hunt” Militants Amid Balochistan Bloodshed

Pakistan’s military spokesman, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held a press conference detailing three major terrorist incidents in Balochistan over just four days. The most prominent attack occurred on July 4–5 in Hanna Urak, where militants the Pakistani government labels “Fitna al-Khawarij” — a term used for groups Islamabad describes as Indian proxies — attacked civilians. Residents reportedly fought back and forced the attackers to retreat.

“We will hunt you everywhere,” the DG ISPR warned. The briefing reflects an intensifying security crisis in Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest and most restive province, where separatist and militant groups have carried out increasingly bold operations.

Meanwhile, Pakistani domestic politics offered its own drama: Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry publicly mocked the PTI party over new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislation that quietly expanded lawmakers’ privileges and immunities — legislation that has yet to even appear on the KP Assembly’s official website — despite PTI’s long-standing promises to end “VIP culture.”
